WMA 2018 World Masters Outdoor Championships
Arrange to arrive in Malaga by early afternoon the day before your first event –
WMA requires athletes to declare (reconfirm) their intention to compete in
person by late afternoon the day prior to the event. You are responsible for
making your own arrangements for travel and accommodation; including
obtaining a passport and a visa.
For Spain, a visa is not required for citizens using USA passports.
USATF World Masters Group Hotel:
A block of rooms is reserved for Team USATF in the Hilton Garden Inn in Malaga, Spain for the WMA
Championships next September. The rate at the Hilton Garden in is 63.50 euros per person per night in
twin and double rooms; 117 euros per night for a single; and 56 euros per person per night in a triple
Click here to see the special Team USATF Accommodation Form that must be used to be part of the
room block, which includes special payment and cancellation policies that are better than those for
reservations made directly on the Malaga 2018 Accommodation website. For example, we negotiated a
25% initial deposit for the Team USATF block of rooms rather than the 50% deposit required of others.
Upon arrival in Malaga, please contact the USA Team Managers – Philip Greenwald or Mary Rosado – either at the Team Meetings or by looking for the USA flag in the stands. This is particularly important for those who have not previously attended a WMA Championship. There are different rules and procedures and it is important to double-check that you have completed all of the steps to be able to compete.
